365 Photos

Unlike the other pages, this page will be updated with photos.  There might be a few exceptions due to difficulties, but mainly this is a progressive page.  A 365 is a year-round project where a photographer takes a bunch of pictures and selects the best to submit.  That is what I am doing here.  I will number them from Day 1 to Day 365.  I hope you all enjoy seeing all the activity and various shots that I will submit.

Day 17:

The photos below were some experiments with panning.  I didn't necessarily want them to show any particular subject, but to be a blurry mess of colors.  I was aiming for a watercolor-like picture

Landscape Pan:

Tree Pan:

Fence Pan:

Day 16:

These Pictures were taken in the late evening.  The water droplet below was taken with the macro lens.

Day 15:

The photo below is a picture of a flower petal.  I got this interesting effect by shining a flashlight below it.  I really liked the picture in black & white, but I kept the original as well.

Day 14:

The photos below are a few examples of playing with lighting on a petal.

Day 13:

This shot was taken on an outcast evening of a water dragon.  This particular lizard was interesting because he did not care if I got to close.

This shot was taken with the macro lens, both to test his faith and test how close I could get.

Day 12:

This photo was taken in the late evening.  I really liked the way the patterns in the background welded together.  It gave it a really cool impression.

Day 11:

These photos were taken in the early morning.  I really like the soft focus that the macro lens puts in the background.

This photo is just a close up of the 1st photo.  I couldn't get any closer because the flower itself was no bigger than an inch.

Day 10:

Below are a few pictures I took of some daisy-like flowers.  These were taken in the early morning.

This is more of a close up of one of the flowers.  I really liked the way the picture has so much contrast in it.

Day 9:

In this photo, I wanted to portray a set of headphones in an interesting perspective.  Using the crisp lighting of the early morning, I got this result.

Day 8:

Today, we were surprised to see a Tawny Frogmouth not far from our porch.  Since these birds are rarely seen in our neighborhood, I immediately grabbed the camera.  After putting a monochrome filter over the picture I tried altering the same photo with strong contrast.  I have listed the two results below.

                                       Shot 1                                                             Shot 2

Day 7:

This shot was taken in the early evening.  I wanted to try something really, really radical with the photo.  I tried taking it really over exposed and then tried editing it with contrast.

Day 6:

This shot was taken during the late evening.  Interestingly, I got this effect by aiming it at a curtain.  What looks like a continuing pattern is really just the reflection in the window.  Personally, I love the way it looks like blue light rays or like a screensaver on a computer.

Day 5:

This photo was taken in a forest near our house.  What struck me was that something that once was so significant in the world has now been forgotten and left to the elements of the world.

Day 4:

Although relatively simple composition, what really drew me to this subject was the interesting lighting.

Day 3:

The two photos below are of a little clump of moss attached to a log.  I was fascinated at the results.  I also really liked how the macro lens distinguished the stalks from the clump.

Day 2:

These two photos of the grasshopper were literally shot on the go, just as I was leaving the forest.  They are not perfect photos, but none-the-less portray it in an interesting way.

Day 1:

The photo below was taken in the late evening.  I obtained these results by aiming the lens directly into the sun; thus, the darker look.
